NorNet Edge

NorNet Edge is the long-term activity on monitoring of the Norwegian mobile broadband networks. The measurements form the basis for an annual report on the stability and performance of these networks.

How do we do it? We have deployed 100+ measurement nodes across the country, each measuring two different mobile networks at that location. Permanent tests of connectivity to the internet, latency, packet loss, download/upload speeds, and other metrics are conducted. The platform is flexible and used for scientific experiments too. The results are sent to the backend, and stored in a relational database. This database is used for data analysis and production of the report.
